To improve your current proctor monitoring experience, increase exam security, and enhance the stability and performance of our platform, a new version of the NHA proctoring engine will be available beginning March 13, 2024.
Who does this impact:
These changes are applicable only for on-site testing with proctors for exams scheduled on or after March 13, 2024. Institutions that offer ExCPT testing will continue to do so through PSI for proctoring, with no changes in the testing experience through PSI.

What's changing in the new proctoring experience?
Streamlined, simplified process for single and multiple proctor sessions
- Instantly approve or pre-load learners before the exam session so they begin testing at the same time
- View a consolidated list of learners who need attention during proctoring session
Real-time updates. No more 30-second refresh
Easier monitoring of potential cheat events
- Candidates are inhibited from performing certain actions, which are captured as cheat events and the proctor is notified. Once 3 cheat events have occurred, the test is terminated for the candidate.
More visibility to flagged questions
- Candidates will now be prompted to “Review flagged questions” before finalizing their exam. They can choose to go back and review OR submit the test. They will be taken directly to all flagged questions in sequence to complete.
NOTE: Flagged questions are not considered completed questions. During review, the candidate must unflag the question for it to be seen as completed/submitted.
Simplified Password reset
- Reset a password without exiting the page (note: reset code still expires after 20 minutes)
Please note:
DO NOT USE THE “ABANDON” BUTTON. On the Proctor Dashboard, you will see a button labeled “Abandon”. This button is not applicable to NHA’s Certification exams and should not be used (it is a feature used for a different function). Pressing the button immediately will terminate the exam and all of the responses that test takers have provided up until that point will be deleted. The test takers will then need to be rescheduled and start the exam again. If you accidentally press this button, please contact NHA immediately. The sooner you contact NHA, the more likely we will be able to help minimize the impact.
