# What are the system requirements?

## Certain device and operating system requirements can help ensure that you're offering the best experience with NHA products and related actions. Learn more about those options in this article.

#### **For the best experience, we recommend the following devices, browsers, and configuration settings.**

*Please note: Students cannot take certification exams on tablets or mobile devices. *

| Mac | Latest version of macOS or the previous version | - System RAM: 8GB or more - Graphics: 3D capable, 2GB Video Card, Metal support - Storage: 256GB SSD or larger |
| iPad | Latest version of iPadOS or the previous version | - Models: Recent models (e.g., iPad Air, iPad Mini, iPad Pro, iPad 7th Generation or later) |
| Android Tablet\* | Latest version of Android OS or the previous version | - Manufactured: Within the last 3 years |
| Chrome OS Device\* | Latest version of Chrome OS or the previous version | - System RAM: 8GB or more - CPU: Multi-core processor, 2.5GHz or better - Graphics: 3D capable, 2GB Video Card, OpenGL 3.0 or equivalent support - Storage: 128GB SSD or larger |

 \* Due to the large number of manufacturers of these devices, NHA cannot fully guarantee compatibility with them and highly recommends that a test against the NHA system be performed prior to purchasing. Most of NHA’s content does not require a heavy amount of processing power and memory usage. NHA simulation experiences do require a substantial amount of both, which may occasionally cause issues loading simulation content.

\*\* Due to the screen size and often running in a “mobile” mode, NHA does not recommend using mobile devices to access the NHA site or other content not offered through the NHA mobile application.

####  Additional Configuration Notes

- NHA recommends using wired network connections for proctored testing. Wireless/Wi-fi connections may be unreliable and could negatively affect testing.
- NHA recommends a download speed of 10Mpbs or greater to consistently access all content. A network speed test can be found at http://www.speedtest.net if download speeds are unknown.
- Android's default browser is not supported; download Chrome for a better experience.
- Clear browsing history and exit the browser prior to any testing.
- Depending on your institution’s setup, they may need to allow \*.nhanow.com and \*.kognito.com through all proxy/caching servers.
- Satellite ISPs: NHA’s website functionality depends on direct connections to our website and databases to accurately display content. Because many ISPs cache webpages rather than allowing connection to the originating website, we are not able to guarantee performance of our website over a satellite connection.
- NHA internally tests their products using JAWS and NVDA to promote WCAG 2.0 compliant operations for assistive reading.
